When
you think Christian hip-hop you normally think of tobyMac, KJ and Reuben
— not Manchild and DJ Dust from Mars ILL. Nevertheless these seasoned
veterans are back with their third album Pro Pain, completing
the album hat-trick.
The last couple of years have been full of change for this duo. Yet, in
spite of the album being pushed back four times it is finally here for
your listening enjoyment. Manchild is lyrically and vocally solid while
DJ Dust brings a southern hip-hop sound with slick cuts, beats and mixes
which emphasize his talent and experience behind the tables.
Perhaps the biggest compliment to this album is the accompaniment of 4th
Avenue Jones’ Ahmed Jones, Capadonna from the Wu Tang Clan and other
close friends of Mars ILL from their hometown of Atlanta, GA.
Pro Pain is anything but painful to listen to; let its powerful
lyrics soothe your soul today! |
